From Inger-Karin Martinsen, Nybakken, N2324 VANG HEDMARK (genalogist hired by Leonard Guthu): "By the 1865 census returns the following family lived at Gutu in Faberg parish: Peder Torstensen, age 59, crofter with soil, his wife Ronnaug Olsdatter, age 59, and their children: Tobias, age 27, carpenter, Berndt, age 24, carpenter, Simen, age 21, tailor, Pauline, age 15, Johanne, age 13, and Ronnoug, age 10... Ifound none of the persons in this family at the Restad farm (Gutu) by the 1875 and 1900 census returns...Ithink the whole family emigrated, but it seems difficult to prove."
