As for John/Joshua or J. B., depending on what document you look at - I have lots of info on him, I did a whole time line for him and his children who are mostly all buried in Michigan City. He was born in March of 1833, married about 1857, died April 30, 1906 in Scipio Township, La Porte; Spouse's name is Mary born in April, 1842 in Illinois, parents from Ohio. They had eight children between 1859 and 1880: Franklin, Viola, Charles, Vinny, Mahlon, Ira, Alva, Etta. Ira died in 1944, Alva died in 1927. I think they all stayed around La Porte and Mich. City. Obit for Joshua Harrington is as follows: "Joshua Harrington Expires After Long Affliction With Cancer - Joshua Harrington, for many years a resident of Laporte county, died Sunday evening at the county infirmary. He was seventy-two years of age and his death was caused by a cancer from which he had suffered for a long time. He was sent to the infirmary from this city last October by Trustee Bennett, his family being unable to take care of him. He has a wife, one daughter and two sons in this city. One of the sons is a cripple and the other is said to be blind or nearly so. The remains were brought to this ciety Wednesday for interment." His death certificate that I copied in la Porte says his name is J. B. Harrington, death date 4/30/1896, place of death, Scipio Township, age 70, married, wife, Mary Harrington, father J. Harrington, died of cancer of the face, 2 yr. duration, buried in Greenwood Cem.
