Matthew Albert was born on February 21st, 1876 in Goodman,McDonald,Missouri.1   Matthew Albert's father was Richard Edmisten and his mother was Eliza Cathrine Rhodes.  His paternal grandfather was Thomas Edmisten. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Thomas Daniel, William Henry, John Dolphus, Richard, Mary Ellen, Florence Bell, Rosalee, Maggie and Theo Genette.  He was the second youngest of the ten children.
