James Dodd 
James was born about 1780 in Amherst,Virginia. James' father was Joseph Dodd and his mother was Lucy Clarkson. His paternal grandparents were John Dodd and Martha Hughes. He was an only child. He died on June 16th, 1867 in Amherst,Virginia.
James and Isabella were married in a religious ceremony on October 1st, 1803. They had six sons and two daughters, named William, James Alexander, John Hillard, George Washington, Shelton, Joseph W, Nancy and Elizabeth Ann.
