Adelaide was born in Metz. Adelaide's father was Charlemagne and her mother was Hildegarde of Lizgau VON VINZGAU. Her paternal grandparents were Pepin III the Short and Bertrada II Broadfoot DE LAON; her maternal grandparents were Gerold I Childebrand VON VINZGAU and Irma Imma. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Charles the Younger, Pepin I, Lideric or Charles or Lyderic, Lothair, Louis I the Pious, Rotrud, Bertha and Aupals or Alpis. She had a half-brother named child of charlemagne. She died in August 0774.General Notes
