Giselbert was born in 0830 in Moselle,Austrasia. Giselbert's father was Emperor Lothaire I Of The Holy Roman Empire and his mother was Countess Ermengarde Of Tours. His paternal grandparents were Emperor Louis I Of The Holy Roman Empire and Princess Ermengarde Of Hesbaye. He was an only child. He died at the age of 62 in 0892.
They had a son named Rainer I.
