John was born in 1660.  John's father was William Garton and his mother was Margaret Angell.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 38 on June 12th, 1698 in Richmond County,Virginia.

‌John and Martha were married in a religious ceremony in 1677 in Richmond County,Virginia.  They had a daughter named Catherine.
