The Editor of Genealogy says:
The son Jeremiah (son of Elizabeth Fuller and Geoffrey Clements), tne ancestor of Mark Twain [Samuel Langhorne Clements], married Edy______ in James City in 1634.
The records of James City County have been destroyed, but in the Land Office in Richmond, in Patent Book 3, page 274, dated 1636, Jeremiah Clements is granted 500 acres eastward of land formally in his possesion, on the north side of the James River for the transportation of nine persons, oneof whom is given as "edy", wife of Jeremiah Clements.
Quoting Genealogy;
"Jeremiah's son Francis, born in Surry County, was the father of a second Francis who married Elizabeth Meriwether and died in 1721."
Jeremiah Clements, son of Geoffrey and Elizabeth Fuller Clements was granted land due his mother after her death ca 1633.
