Lif (Leff) was born on October 2nd, 1897.1 Lif (Leff)'s father was Charles Markin and his mother was Lucretia Hattie Large. His paternal grandparents were Charles William Markin and Delitha Jacks; his maternal grandparents were Solomon Large and Sarah Wade. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Waltie, Living, Living, Bertha, Asic (Asa), Ivie and Living.
