Cynthia was born on May 21st, 1817 in Kentucky. Cynthia's father was John Lemon Senour and her mother was Rhoda Wayman. Her paternal grandparents were John Senour and Sophia Bryant; her maternal grandparents were Harmon Wayman and Elizabeth Clore. She had three brothers and eight sisters, named Josiah, Zachariah, John Harmon, Elizabeth, Zelitha, Mary, Nancy, Lucy, Eliza, Caroline and Jane. She was the sixth youngest of the twelve children.-
