Ruby was born about 1904.1 Ruby's father was John LOGAN McLain and her mother was Alice Pollick. Her paternal grandparents were William Carroll McLain and Lucindia Cook Kemp; her maternal grandparents were Henry Pollick and Nancy Ann Posey. She had three brothers named Robert Henry, James Carroll and Louis. She was the youngest of the four children.-
