John Mattox 
John was born in 1775.1 John's father was David Mattox and his mother was Sarah Perkins. His paternal grandparents were John Mattox and Elizabeth Sherwood; his maternal grandparents were John Perkins and Rachael Ferguson. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Tarlton, William, Michael Mial, Nancy and Mary. He was the third youngest of the six children.
