William Cordra Maples

William Cordra was born in 1776 in Halifax Co., Virginia.¹   William Cordra's father was Josiah Maples and his mother was Ruthea Sweeney.  His paternal grandfather was William Maples; his maternal grandparents were Moses SR. Sweeney and Ann (Sweeney). He had nine brothers and three sisters, named James, Ephraim, Josiah Jr., Peter C., Moses, Elijah, Jesse, Thomas, John W.?, Nancy, Ruthea and Elizabeth.  He was the seventh oldest of the thirteen children.  He died at the age of 71 on October 26th, 1847 in Huntsville, Madison Co., Alabama.¹
