Elias IV Giffard 
Elias IV was born about 1180 in Of Brimpsfield, Gloucs, England.1 Elias IV's father was Elis IV Gifford and his mother was Maud FitzHarding de Berkeley. His paternal grandparents were Elias Giffard and Bertha (de Clifford) FitzRichard; his maternal grandparents were Maurice FitzRobert FitzHarding and Alice de Berkeley. He had three brothers and a sister, named Thomas, Osbert, Gilbert and Berta. He was the oldest of the five children. He died about May 2nd, 1248.1 General Notes
