Alan MacDonald de was born about 1186 in Of, Galloway, Wigtownshire, Scotland.1 Alan MacDonald de's father was Roland GALLOWAY and his mother was Elena (Helena) de MORVILLE. His paternal grandparents were Uchtred de GALLOWAY and Gunnild of Allendale; his maternal grandparents were Richard de MORVILLE and Avice (Avicia) de LANCASTER. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Son de, Thomas de, Ada de and Devorguilla de. He died in 1234 in SPM Legit. He was buried in Abbey Of Dundrennan, Kirkcudbright, Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland.1 1 General Notes
