Roger was born about 1050 in Of, Bienfaite, Normandy, France.1 Roger's father was Richard FITZGILBERT and his mother was Rohese GIFFARD. His paternal grandparents were Gilbert Brionne and Gundrada de Crpon; his maternal grandparents were Walter GIFFARD and Agnes Ermentrude FLEITEL. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Walter, Richard FitzRichard de, Robert FitzRichard de, Gilbert FitzRichard de, Rohese Fitzrichard de, Ronais Fitz and Adeliza de. He was the oldest of the eight children. He died after September 1131 in St Neots, Huntingdonshire, England. He was buried in Priory, St Neot's, Huntingdonshire, England.1 1 General Notes
