Samuel Chew 
Samuel was born about 1630 in Jamestown, VA.---see notes.1 Samuel's father was John Chew and his mother was Sarah Bond. His paternal grandparents were John Chew and Anne Broddyle. He had three brothers and a sister, named William, Joseph, Thomas and Unnamed. He died in Anne Arundel Co., MD..1 General Notes

Article on "Lost Towns" archeological efforts mentioned a search is underway in Anne Arunde l Co. to
determine the location of Herrington. Herrington is the town Samuel laid out upon his arriva l in MD
in the 1650,s--after being effectively being chased out of Virginia.
