Maelgwn Gwynedd ap was born about 0485.¹   Maelgwn Gwynedd ap's father was Cadwallon ap Einion Yrth and his mother was Meddyf Ferch Maeldaf.  His paternal grandparents were Einion Yrth ap Cunneda and Prawst Ferch Tidlet Tiyjlyn; his maternal grandparents were Maeldaf ap Dylan Draws and NoName Ferch Tallwch.  He was an only child.  He died about 0547.¹
