Gawain CORBIN 
Gawain was born in 1659 in Middlesex Co., Va.1 Gawain's father was Henry CORBIN and his mother was Alice Eltonhead. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Corbin and Winifred Grosvenor; his maternal grandparents were Richard Eltonhead and Ann Sutton. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, Henry, Letitia, Francis, Winifred, Alice and Anne. He died in King & Queen Co., Virginia.1 General Notes

He gave to his son John Corbin the lan d at Portobacco in Essex Co. and many acres in Spotsylvania Co. He gave to his daughters F anny Bushrod, Joanna Tucker, Alice Needler and daughter Allerton liberal amounts of mone y and household goods. His son Gawin, the youngest, was a pet and was left to the guardian ship of his sons-in-law, William Bassett, Benjamin Needler, Robert Tucker, and his son Ric hard Corbin, and he directed that Mr. Christiall, a tutor, should complete his educatio n. The marriage contract of his oldest son Richard, providing 50 negroes, was confirmed. ( 4) Gawin Corbin, by his will, devised to his son Gawin Corbin "the land of my brother, th e late Mr. Thomas Corbin." Left 3 sons and 4 daughters.
