Nanny Emily was born on November 9th, 1897.1   Nanny Emily's father was William Eljah Brinton and her mother was Sarah Elizabeth POWELL.  Her maternal grandparents were Charles Fletcher Powell and Nancy Marian Gates. She had three brothers and three sisters, named William Ernest, Robert Finis, Bryant, Audley Myra, Nola Edith and Estella Magdaline.  She was the third youngest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 47 in 1944.1
