Her paternal grandparents were Walter Blount and Sancha de Ayala; her maternal grandparents were Thomas Gresley and Margaret Walsh. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Walter de, Thomas, Agnes, daughter and Eliza Elizabeth. She was the oldest of the six children.-
