James Best

James was born about 1738 in Tyrell, NC.¹   James' father was Thomas BEST and his mother was Sarah Jane Alexander.  His maternal grandfather was Anthony Alexander. He had three brothers and a sister, named Thomas, Benjamin, William and Hannah.  He was the second youngest of the five children.  He died in April 1786.¹
