William Tipton 
William was born on July 27th, 1696 in Anne Arundel Co., MD. William's father was Jonathan Tipton and his mother was Sarah Pearce. His paternal grandparents were Edward Tipton and Amy Phillips; his maternal grandfather was William Pearce. He had a brother named Jonathan II. He was the older of the two children. He died at the age of 29 on April 6th, 1726 in Baltimore Co., MD.General Notes

September 12, 1719, William and Thomas Tipton, were made overseers of the
Estate of their maternal uncle, William Pearce.

MD Courthouse.
Family tradition has it that Jonathan, William, and other brothers took
passage from Jamaica in a ship bound for America, the ship was attacked
on the high seas by vessels of some of the American Colonies under the
impression that it was a pirate ship and before the mistake was
discovered, the brothers were killed except Jonathan and William. (The
