Joshua McClellan was born on January 30th, 1861 in Seneca Co., OH. Joshua McClellan's father was Grafton M. Shedenhelm and his mother was Catharine Malinda Schall. His paternal grandparents were George Shedenhelm and Catharine Lease; his maternal grandparents were David Schall and Jane Margaret Blue. He had six brothers and five sisters, named John Grafton, Samuel Scott, Francis Marion, Clinton C., Winfield Scott, Fred, Rebecca Ellen, Margaret Sophia, Ida Matilda, Mary Lucinda and ?. He had six half-brothers and two half-sisters, named George Nicholas, Henry David, Reuben William, James Washington, Thomas Monroe, Levi Jacob, Elizabeth Jane and Catherine Malinda. He died at the age of 65 on October 20th, 1926 in Ottumwa, IA. He was buried in Shaw Cemetery, Ottumwa, IA.General Notes
