Dietrich was born in 1009.1   Dietrich's father was Count Dedi of Northern Hessegau and his mother was Thietburga von Haldensleben.  His paternal grandparents were Count in the Hessgau Dietrich von Wettin I and <Unknown>.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 25 on November 19th, 1034.1
