Count Hugo of Sponheim

Hugo was born about 1089 in Burgsponheim, Rheinland, Prussia.¹ Hugo's father was Count Stefan of Sponheim and his mother was Sofie von Hamm. His maternal grandparents were Berthold von Hamm I and <Unknown>. He had two brothers and a sister, named Meinhard, Rudolph and Jutte. He was the third oldest of the four children.
