Isabel was born in 1040 in Montlhery, Soise, France.1  Isabel's father was Signeur Gui Milo de Montlhery and her mother was Hilduin de Gometz.  Her paternal grandparents were Guy de Montlhery and <Unknown>; her maternal grandparents were Guillaume de Gometz and <Unknown>. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Le Grand, The Red, Elizabeth, Alice and Melisende.  She was the second oldest of the six children.
