Geoffrey was born about 1095 in Kenilworth Castle, Warwickshire, England.1   Geoffrey's father was Ralph de Tankerville and his mother was Agnes Stigand.  His maternal grandparents were Eudes Stigand and <Unknown>. He had two brothers named Osbert and William.  He died after 1130.2
