Sir Walter de Berkeley Chamberlain of Scotland

Walter was born about 1146 in Gartley, Banffshire, Scotland.¹ Walter's father was Lord of Gartley John de Berkeley and his mother was <Unknown>. His paternal grandparents were Lord of Gartley John de Berkeley and <Unknown>. He had two brothers and a sister, named Robert, Theobald and Richenda. He was the oldest of the four children. He died about 1190.²
