Jean was born on June 9th, 1656 in Saint Alphage/ Canterbury, Kent Co., England.1   Jean's father was Gedeon DeSpaigne and her mother was Mary Le Leu.  Her paternal grandparents were Jean DeSpaigne and Marie Sedt. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Gedeon, Samuel, Gedeon, Marie, Marie, Elizabeth, Susanne and Jeanne.  She was the second oldest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 7 on February 2nd, 1664.2
