William was born on June 13th, 1855 in Bradfield, Yorkshire, England.1  William's father was Mr George Cheetham and his mother was Ms Mary Ann.  His paternal grandparents were Mr Samuel Cheetham and Ms Elizabeth. He had a brother and two sisters, named Joe, Emma Cheetham and Sarah.  He was the second oldest of the four children.  He died at the age of 65 on June 13th, 1920.
