Jan se narodil dne 12. července 1699 v Petrovice.1 Otec: Jan Bayer, Matka: Dorota Bayerová. Měl tři bratry a pět sester, jménem Jiří, Matěj, Václav, Kateřina, Anna, Alžběta, Dorota a Magdalena. Byl druhý nejstarší z celkem devíti sourozenců.
