Beatrice was born in 1894 in Salford.1  Beatrice's father was George Jos. Cowell and her mother was Minerva Walker.  Her paternal grandparents were George Joseph Cowell and Lucy Conoly Walker.  Richard Walker and Elizabeth were her grandparents through her mother's adoption. She had a brother named George.  She was the older of the two children.
