Henry was born before 1582 and his baptism took place on January 20th, 1582 in Horsham Sussex.¹

Henry's father was John Stere and his mother was Dorothie. He had four brothers and a sister, named William, John, Thomas, Philip and Joane.  He was the oldest of the six children.
