Martha was born in 1656 and her baptism took place on March 20th, 1655 in Rudgwick, Sussex.1  Martha's father was Will Steer and her mother was <Unknown>. She had a brother and three sisters, named Edward, Elizabeth, Mary and Ann.  She was the second youngest of the five children.
