Stanley was born about 1896 in Acton Middlesex.¹

Stanley's father was William Richard STEERS and his mother was Mary Jane STEERS. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Joseph Malins, Branther Edward, Sidney Herbert, Elizabeth, Caroline Maud and Lily Noreen. He was the youngest of the seven children.
