Edith was born in 1892 in Rusper and her baptism took place there on August 7th, 1892.1 2  Edith's father was James Steer and her mother was Mary steer. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Richard, William, James, Albert, Emily, Annie, Margaret, Dorothy and Alice.
