Ann was born in 1833 and her baptism took place on March 24th, 1833 in Wisborough Green, Sussex.1   Ann's father was James Steer and her mother was Martha Mann. She had two brothers and a sister, named William, Jesse and Frances.  She was the youngest of the four children.
