John was born on August 16th, 1825 in Bromley Kent. John's father was Thomas STEERS and his mother was Jane PARWIN. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Alfred, Thomas, Charles, George, Esther, Matilda, Louisa (Susan) and Eleanor.  He was the oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 42 in January 1868 in Bromley Kent.  He was buried on January 3rd, 1868 in Bromley Kent.1 2
