Walter J was born about 1891 in Hendon Middlesex.1   Walter J's father was Walter W STEER and his mother was Elizabeth F STEER. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Frederick G, Percy J, Ernestine M and Lilian M.  He was the second oldest of the five children.
