Tom was born about 1881 in Wath on Dearne, Yorkshire.1   Tom's father was William Joell STEER and his mother was Sarah Ann Kitchin.  His maternal grandfather is <Unknown> and his maternal grandmother was Mary KITCHEN. He had a sister named Alice.  He was the younger of the two children.
