Thomas' father was William STEER and his mother was Amy TIDEY. He had three brothers and five sisters, named William, James, John, Sarah, Ann, Elizabeth, Sarah and Mary.  He was the fifth oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 62 in February 1832 in Horley, Surrey.  He was buried on February 19th, 1832 in St Peter & St Paul, Nutfield, Surrey..^1 2
