James Davey was born about 1889 in Clist St George, Devonshire.1   James Davey's father was John Lewis STEER and his mother was Laura Annie STEER. He had two brothers and two sisters, named John, Francis, Ada Emily and Florence Elizabeth.  He was the second youngest of the five children.
