George was born in 1820 in Lingfield Surrey. George's father was William STEER and his mother was Mary BONWICK. He had four brothers and two sisters, named John, James, William, Alfred, Hannah and Sarah Ann.  He was the oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 27 in June 1847 in Lingfield Surrey.  He was buried on June 6th, 1847 in St Peter & St Paul, Lingfield, Surrey..1 2
