Edith was born about 1881 in Leatherhead Surrey.1   Edith's father was Elis STEER and her mother was Mary STEER. She had five brothers and four sisters, named William, Ernest, Bertie, Alfred, Henry, Jane, Alice, Kate and Julia.  She was the fourth oldest of the ten children.
