David was born about 1841 in Bovey Tracey Devon.1   David's father was William STEER and his mother was Sarah STEER.  His maternal grandparents are <Unknown> and <Unknown>. He had a brother and a sister, named Jabez and Eliza.  He was the second oldest of the three children.
