Clara was born about 1863 in Yorkshire.1   Clara's father was William STEER and her mother was Janett STEER. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Thomas M, Jasper, George R, Elizabeth, Ada C and Margrate A.  She was the fourth oldest of the seven children.
