Charles Alfred was born about 1889 in Modbury Devon.1   Charles Alfred's father was George STEER and his mother was Amelia Mary STEER. He had three brothers and a sister, named Percy George, Herbert- John, Arthur Leonard and Eveline May.  He was the oldest of the five children.
