C was born about 1881 in Croydon Surrey.1   C's father was Arthur STEER and his mother was Elizabeth STEER. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Willm H, John A, Alice L, Kate S, C, Edith E and Am Flora.  He was the fourth youngest of the eight children.
