Alfred J was born about 1878 in Rudgwick, Sussex.1   Alfred J's father was William STEER and his mother is <Unknown>. He had two brothers and four sisters, named William S, Albert C, Eliza, Elizabeth C, Elizabeth M and Lillian M.  He was the third oldest of the seven children.  Alfred J is no longer alive.
